To serve over 3,700,000 children and families a year, RMHC relies on the generous donations of our corporate donors and their customers. Now in its seventh year, World Children’s Day at McDonald’s has raised more than $124 million for RMHC and other children’s causes around the world through support from McDonald’s customers, as well as McDonald’s employees, owner/operators, and suppliers.
McDonald’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities have a history that dates back to McDonald’s support in the creation of the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia in 1974. Ronald McDonald House Charities has been McDonald’s charity of choice for 35 years and is our largest corporate donor, but we still need your help in improving the quality of life for children around the world.

Help children heal better and faster
- Research shows that a family presence in the hospital helps children heal faster. Staying at a Ronald McDonald House allows parents to communicate more easily with their child’s medical team and improves adherence to complicated treatment plans.
Bridge the access to health care
- Ronald McDonald Houses allow families to stay close to their children while they get medical treatment.
- Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles provide dental and medical services, along with health education to underserved communities.
Ease the financial burden
- Each year, families save $226 million in hotel costs alone by staying at a Ronald McDonald House.
- Anually, U.S. families save $10 million dollars in dental and medical costs by visiting the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
Allow families to face the weight of an illness together
- Families are stronger when they are together. And, allowing families to stay together and spend more time with their sick child helps in the healing process.
